The Port Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of vessels and port facilities. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Management: Develop and implement maintenance schedules for vessels, trucks and port equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
2. Repair Oversight: Supervise repair activities, coordinating with shipyards and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions and support to crew members and management regarding engineering issues and vessel operations.
3. Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of maintenance budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
4. Project Management: Lead engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and specifications.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for audit purposes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in marine engineering or port operations.
• Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and safety protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools.

Working Conditions:

The Port Engineer may work in both office and on-site environments. Flexibility in hours may be required to accommodate vessel schedules.
